Pirate-age survival co-op — build, craft and sail with 2–10 players. Dedicated EU server with 8–24 GB depending on crew and world size.
Windrose dropped into Early Access in April 2026 — a pirate-age survival sandbox where crews build, craft, sail and fight together. The dedicated server tool is anonymous-downloadable through Steam (server app 4129620), and we have it pre-configured on Pterodactyl so you can be sailing within minutes of checkout.
We run the official Windows server build through a SteamCMD-Proton wrapper on AMD EPYC class hardware in Falkenstein. Dedicated RAM, low-latency EU routing, full panel access with file manager and live console, automated backups so a kraken attack doesn't cost you a week's progress.
RAM scales aggressively with crew size and world complexity: 8 GB minimum for duos, 12 GB for 4-player crews, 16–24 GB for the full 8–10 player early-access cap.
| RAM | Players / profile | Indicative from |
|---|---|---|
| 8 GB | 8–16 players | €19.92/month |
| 12 GB | 12+ GB for large groups / heavy mods | €29.88/month |
| 16 GB | 16+ GB for large groups / heavy mods | €39.84/month |
| 24 GB | 24+ GB for large groups / heavy mods | €59.76/month |
Live price in the configurator, varies slightly with node load. RAM upgrades live in the panel without migration.
8 GB is the minimum for a 2-player crew. 4 players need ~12 GB, full 8–10 player crews need 16 GB or more. World streaming and ship physics are heavy, so don't undersize.
Early access caps at around 10 players per crew. We provision capacity for that.
Yes — Joom Capital ships the Windrose Dedicated Server as a free SteamCMD app (app id 4129620). It's anonymous-downloadable, no game licence required on the host. Our egg pulls and runs it automatically.
Yes, Windrose handles client connections via NAT punch-through, so port forwarding is largely abstracted from end-users. We expose a stable server port for the allocation framework and the dedicated server still listens on it.
Within hours of Joom Capital's Steam push. The server runs through SteamCMD so a restart pulls the latest build automatically.
Yes. Save data is stored as files in the server directory. Pull them via FTP from your old host, upload through our SFTP panel, restart. Same workflow as any other survival game.
